Missing & New Potions adds a set of potions and new effects to Minecraft, each craftable from ingredients that vanilla potions do not use.

What it does

Several recipes produce the new potions, combining vanilla items such as glowstone dust, conduits, shulker shells, emeralds, suspicious stew and diamond pickaxes with awkward or thick base potions. Some outputs are marked as uncraftable, so they only appear through commands or the creative inventory. The mod also covers creative, survival, adventure and spectator water bottles, plus joke items such as an inventory bomb and a potion called LAG.

The mod targets Forge and NeoForge only, with the latest Forge file built for 1.20.1 and the newest NeoForge file for 1.21.8. Game versions with files are 1.20.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.5 and 1.21.8, so the card covers 1.20.1 – 1.21.8 across four release versions. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The code is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. New potion effects

    Potions such as Absorption, Conduit Power, Glowing, Health Boost, Hero of the Village, Levitation, Saturation and Resistance are added as effects.

  2. Crafted potion recipes

    Each new potion is brewed from a base potion plus one ingredient, using vanilla items as the second input.

  3. Water bottle variants

    Creative, Survival, Adventure and Spectator water bottles are added, each with its own brewing recipe.

  4. Joke and utility potions

    Items such as Inventory Bomb, Lot Dices, Nasty Treat and Yummy Treat add playful effects to the potion set.
