Minescript
by maxuser
Minescript lets players control and interact with Minecraft through Python scripts that run from the in-game chat, using a Python programming language layer.
What it does
Scripts written in Python can read the player's coordinates, inspect the contents of a chosen spot and place signs that carry custom text. On first launch the mod creates a minescript folder inside the Minecraft folder, and that folder is where new Python scripts are placed and where example scripts can be found.
Python 3 must be installed separately before the mod can run scripts. Minescript looks for it in a standard location; if Python is installed elsewhere, the path can be set through the python variable in the config.txt file inside the minescript folder. Python 3.7 – 3.10 are the tested versions. Minescript is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 23 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.3, and Fabric API is required on the Fabric loader.
The mod is tested on Windows 10 and 11 (x86), macOS up to Sonoma, Linux distributions such as Pop_OS, and NixOS, Bazzite and SteamOS. Minescript is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, with public links to its source code, issue tracker and wiki.
