Mineify [DISCONTINUED]
by MrJulsen
Mineify lets a server owner upload custom sounds and music to the server itself, so players hear them without fetching a resource pack.
What it does
Players can upload sound and music files to the server, and those sounds are usable right after upload. Because the audio stays on the server, clients do not need an extra resource pack, which tends to be large. Streaming is supported, and uploaded files can be arranged into playlists with the Sound Player Block, which can also define the area where its sounds are heard and be controlled with redstone.
The mod runs on Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, with files for five game versions across 1.18.2 – 1.20.1. It is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Its Public links include source code and an issue tracker. The project is discontinued, and the last update was published on 2023-11-28.
Key features
Server-hosted audio
Sounds and music live on the server, so players hear them without a separate resource pack.
Playlists and streaming
Uploaded tracks can be streamed and grouped into playlists through the Sound Player Block.
Area sounds and redstone
The Sound Player Block can limit playback to a defined area, and redstone signals can start and stop it.
Sound board
Short sound snippets can be triggered from a sound board for quick effects during play.
Player permissions
Server owners decide whether players may use the sounds, keep them private, and manage uploaded files through the config.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Event music on a server
A server owner can upload soundtracks for an event area and start them with a redstone circuit, so the music plays only where it is wanted.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want custom audio without asking every player to install a resource pack, and map makers who build sound-driven areas or redstone music systems.
How it compares
Just Enough Music Discs is server-side only, open source under the Apache License 2.0, and built for Forge 1.20.1, so players join without installing it. Custom Records is client and server, open source under the MIT License, and also built for Forge 1.20.1, so every player must run it as well. More Creations is client and server, built for Forge 1.20.1, and is not open source, with All rights reserved applying to its code.
