by WorldSalad

Minecards adds over 100 collectible trading cards to Forge, grouped into themed sets that players gather through exploration, fishing, villages and trade.

ForgeClient and serverCustom license1.20.1 – 1.20.2

What it does

Cards come in several sets: an Overworld set of 25, and Nether, End, Aquatic, Deep Dark and Village Pillage sets of 13 each. A Retro set holds 19 cards, and golden cards are given as rewards for completing a full set. Each set is tied to where it is found, such as chest pools in the Overworld, the Nether and the End or stronghold, underground chests in ancient cities and mineshafts, and fishing in the Aquatic set.

Cards also turn up in a random card box and in varying conditions, including foil. Card packs can be bought from a new villager profession, the Card Collector, who works at a Card Collector's Bench that needs one Deckite to craft, an ore that appears in the Overworld. Villages and illager structures are another source. The mod runs on Forge for 1.20.1 and 1.20.2, and both the server and each player need it. It is not open source and is released under a custom license.

Key features

  1. Themed card sets

Several sets cover different parts of the world, from the Overworld and Nether to the Deep Dark and Retro cards.

  2. Varied sources

Cards are found in chests, through fishing, by archaeology and from random card boxes, so collecting depends on where players explore.

  3. Card Collector villager

A custom villager profession sells card packs, and its Card Collector's Bench is crafted from a Deckite ore.

  4. Foil and condition variants

Cards appear in different conditions, and some exist in foil form.

How it compares

Full comparison

CardCraft is open source under the MIT License, with files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt on 1.20.1, so it reaches more loaders than Minecards. That's why we craft! is published for Forge on 1.20.1 under the CC0 1.0 Universal license and is not open source. MopCards is Forge-only for 1.19.2, so it does not cover the 1.20 versions that Minecards targets.
