MCXR Core
by Sorenon
MCXR Core provides the VR functionality that the MCXR Play mod relies on, letting a Minecraft session run for players wearing VR headsets.
What it does
MCXR Core handles the VR side of a Minecraft session: a dynamic player height that follows the headset, thinner hitboxes for VR players, projectile firing driven by the controllers, and teleportation. VR players are also shown with a third person player model, so other players see them move rather than a static figure.
The mod is a base library. Its main user is MCXR Play, which uses the VR features for play in environments where VR is in use. Players without a headset can still install it, and the mod then also carries the third person VR animations that are used when a VR player is present. Installation needs Fabric or Quilt, and the release line covers 1.18.2 and 1.19, with the 0.3.0 file for 1.19 the latest build on both loaders.
Files exist for Fabric and Quilt only, with two game versions available: 1.18.2 and 1.19. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Dynamic VR player height
The player's height adjusts to the VR headset, so the view matches the position of the player in the real room.
Thinner VR player hitboxes
VR players get narrower hitboxes, making them easier to hit and less obstructive in tight spaces.
VR projectile firing
Projectiles can be fired from the VR controllers, taking direction from the hand that holds the item.
VR teleportation and third person model
Players can teleport in VR, and a third person player model with VR animations is shown to other players.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

How it compares
SinoCore works on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, and is released under a custom license, not open source. RAA: Core is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, with Fabric files for 1.18.2 – 1.20.4, and it is not a VR library.

What the author says
MCXR Core is the base mod for MCXR Play and used for VR related features in Non-VR environments. Currently there is no benefit from installing this on Non-VR clients but eventually this mod will be used for 3rd person VR animations.
