MCShare
by Boxadactle
MCShare exports a Minecraft world into one encrypted .mcshare file that can be passed to another player, and imports such files back into the saves list.
What it does
Export is started from the World Selection menu: a player selects a world, clicks Edit, then Export World. Optional settings let the player choose whether data packs and resource packs are included and whether the file is encrypted. Export writes a single .mcshare file, which can be sent through cloud storage, a messenger or email instead of copying folders by hand.
Import works from the same menu. A player can browse for a .mcshare or .zip file, or drag one into the window, and enter the password if the file was encrypted. Encryption protects the world files against tampering and unauthorized access, and the mod does not require opening the .minecraft folder. The mod runs on the client only, and it needs BoxLib, which must be installed alongside it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 16 release versions, 1.20 – 1.21.8, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is open source.
Key features
Single-file world export
A world is packed into one .mcshare file with a few clicks, so no save folder has to be copied.
Optional encryption
Exported worlds can be encrypted with a password, and the password is requested again when the file is imported.
Import from the saves menu
Both .mcshare and .zip files can be imported by browsing or by dragging them into the World Selection window.
Data and resource pack options
Data packs and resource packs can be included or left out of an export, as the player chooses.

Who it’s for: Players who share survival or creative worlds with friends, and players who want a single backup file of a world that can be imported again.
How it compares
Bloomy Settings Import is a Fabric-only client mod for 1.20.1 – 1.21.8, released under the MIT License and open source. IWBIA runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.20 – 1.21.10, under All rights reserved, so it is not open source; servers need it, and players can add it or leave it out. MCShare is client-side only and covers the same loaders with the GPL-3.0 license.
