MCPixelArt

by Ghost

MCPixelArt lets players draw pixel art on a canvas in-game, export the result as an image file, and import images back into the world, with WorldEdit integration for placing finished builds.

FabricForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.18.2

What it does

Players can build pixel art directly in the world with block-level precision. A drawing board provides a canvas where each pixel is set to a block color, and finished work can be exported as an image file with a command. Images can also be imported and placed into the world, so a picture can be reproduced as a build.

WorldEdit is required. Its selector works with MCPixelArt: a wooden axe selects two corner points, and the region can then be exported with the WorldEdit integration. Files are published for Fabric and Forge for 1.18.2, with 1.0 as the latest build on both loaders, released 2024-01-14. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

The source code and issue tracker are public, and the project is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. Community members can share exported images and use them in other creative projects.

Udlede is a Forge mod for 1.12.2 that runs on client and server, under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only. Neither covers pixel art export for the 1.18.2 range MCPixelArt targets.
