MapTooltip

by PogaPlays

Map players on survival servers can see location details in a tooltip when they hover the map item, and MapTooltip provides that overlay for Fabric.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License26.1 – 26.2

What it does

MapTooltip adds information tooltips to maps so that the points of interest and details on a map are easier to read at a glance. Its overlays help a player find locations quickly while exploring, trading or building. The mod was made with survival multiplayer in mind, and servers such as DonutSMP are the setting it was built around, where quick navigation matters.

The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need to install it and players join without it. It requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric only, with builds covering 26.1 and 26.2 and the latest file, 1.0.0 for 26.2, dated 2026-08-07. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. The author has said further additions are intended in coming releases.

  3. Light performance cost

The author describes the mod as lightweight, with a small impact on game performance.

  4. Clean overlays

Tooltips are kept compact, so the map is not cluttered with unnecessary information.
