Mapper Base
by Mapper
Mapper Base is a Forge and NeoForge library mod that supplies shared common content and basic functions for other mods built by the same author.
What it does
Mapper Base is a library rather than a gameplay mod, so it adds little visible content on its own. Its shared code provides common elements that other mods use, and the author describes it as named after the author's nickname with nothing further implied. The one player-facing addition is steel, which appears as a material in the game. Most of the mod's internal code is used by EmbellishCraft and Road Stuff, the two mods that require it.
Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge across 11 release versions, 1.15.2 – 1.21.1, and the latest files are 1.20.1-6.0.0.0 for Forge and 1.21.1-7.1.1.0 for NeoForge. Development is now aimed at newer versions, and Fabric support is not planned because Forge is deprecated. Mapper Base is released under the MIT License and is open source, with public source code, an issue tracker and a wiki.
Key features
Shared library code
Common elements and basic functions are provided for other mods to build on, so each dependent mod does not need its own copy.
Steel material
Steel is the only content a player sees directly, and it is added by the mod itself.
Used by dependent mods
EmbellishCraft and Road Stuff rely on most of the internal code, so removing the library breaks both.
Open source code
The MIT License covers the code, and the source, issue tracker and wiki are publicly linked.

What the author says
Mapper Base is a library mod that provides basic elements and functionalities to my other mods. It's literally named after my nickname, nothing more. For players, the only notable addition is steel. Everything else is just code under the hood used by EmbellishCraft and Road Stuff.
