Make It Rain!
Make It Rain! lets rain fall in Overworld biomes that are normally dry, on Fabric clients.
What it does
The mod is client-side only, so only the client needs it and a server can be left without it. Rain is added to biomes that normally stay dry in the Overworld, and precipitation values are overwritten on those biomes. Since only Overworld biomes are changed, dimension mods that alter the Nether or End are less likely to conflict with it, and the change is intended to stay compatible with most servers.
When a biome is set to rain, the game checks for precipitation, rain particles and rain sound in that biome. The precipitation setting can be turned off whenever those checks run, which keeps the change limited to what the player sees and hears. Rain renders only where the dimension has a skylight, so the effect stays in the Overworld.
The mod is published for Fabric only, for game versions 1.20 – 1.21.10 with 18 release versions, and the latest Fabric file is 1.2.0+1.21.9 for 1.21.10, dated 2025-10-29. It is released under CC0 1.0 Universal and is open source, with public links for the source code and issue tracker.
Key features
Rain in dry biomes
Biomes that normally have no precipitation receive rain, changing how those Overworld areas look and sound.
Precipitation override
The mod overwrites the precipitation values of affected biomes rather than adding a separate weather system.
Skylight-only rendering
Rain is drawn only in dimensions with a skylight, so it appears in the Overworld and not underground or in other dimensions.
Client-side operation
The change runs on the player's client, so servers can continue without installing it.

What the author says
Since it only adds rain to Overworld biomes, it's fully compatible with dimension mods, and won't try to overwrite precipitation values for biomes from those mods. Being client-side means that you don't need (and actually shouldn't) install this on a server. It also means that it's compatible with most servers.
