Magpie Bridge Notification sends in-game chat messages to the desktop as native Windows notifications, so players can follow chat while working in another window.
What it does
Chat messages from the game are forwarded to the operating system's notification system. On Windows, they appear as native notifications, and the mod supports a dark mode that matches the system theme. A unified notification center gathers these messages in one place, so players can scroll back through what they missed without reopening the game.
The mod is built on the Go Toast library, which is used to send system notifications, and it relies on Cloth Config API for its settings screen. Mod Menu is optional and adds a configuration entry to the mod list. Because only the client needs the mod, a server does not have to install it, and players join normally without it.
Files are published for Fabric and Forge across 12 release versions. The latest builds are 2.2000.1.0-pre2-alpha12 for 1.20.1, dated 2026-06-14 and marked as the alpha channel. All rights reserved applies, so the code is not open source. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.
