Ore Plus Ultra
by wen_wen
Ore Plus Ultra is a datapack that raises spawn rates for vanilla minerals and changes how often ore generates in the world.
What it does
The mod ships as a datapack that modifies the default ore generation of Minecraft, mainly by increasing the spawn rates of certain minerals. The packs in the mod's gallery reflect directly multiplied probabilities against the vanilla rates, rather than a fixed extent of change, so each pack's effect is set by its multiplier. Ore generation probabilities are kept as the original reference points, and the wiki lists the details of each setting.
The datapack is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with game versions 1.16.2 – 26.2 and snapshot builds included. Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license and is not open source. The author strongly recommends installing it when a world is created, because ore generation is set during world generation.
Key features
Higher spawn rates
Certain minerals are generated more frequently than in vanilla, with the increase set by each pack.
Lower spawn rates
Packs can also reduce how often ore generates, lowering the frequency below the original values.
Discard chance for exposed ore
Ore generation can be discarded when the block is exposed to air, which changes how visible ore appears on cave walls.
Gallery comparison
The mod page includes a gallery that compares the generation settings of the packs against the vanilla rates.

How it compares
OreFix is server-side with optional client use, under the MIT License, which is not open source, and it covers 1.18 – 1.21.11. More Ancient Debris (5x) is also server-side with optional client use and open source under the MIT License, but it targets 1.18.2 – 26.1.1 and changes ancient debris only. More Ancient Debris (10x) shares that environment, license and range, with a larger multiplier on the same block.
