Lucidity

by ryan100c

Lucidity is a Fabric client mod that draws visual overlays for ores, fluids, orientation, mob tracking and explosions.

FabricClient-side onlyCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.01.21 – 1.21.11

What it does

Lucidity works as a visual assistant on the player's own game. Its rendering options let the player choose which blocks, entities and particles are drawn, and in what mode. Ore highlighting marks ores inside a set detection range, custom blocks can be added to that list, and each ore type can have its own color. Fluid source blocks receive a dedicated highlight texture that also works with texture packs, and the mod can mark fluid sources and indicate where damage comes from.

Other tools cover orientation display, comparator output for containers, mob tracking range visualization and a command preview. An explosion visualizer simulates blast details in real time. Because the mod runs on the client alone, it needs no installation on a server, and the client-side only environment means a multiplayer server accepts players who do not have it.

Lucidity requires Fabric API, MaLiLib and Ryan'sRenderingLib, and Flashback is an optional companion. It is published for Fabric only, with builds covering 1.21 – 1.21.11 across 12 release versions. The code is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0, so the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Selective rendering

Blocks, entities and particles can each be shown or hidden, with per-item rendering modes to fit the player's view.

  2. Ore highlighting

Ores within a detection range are outlined, with a configurable list of blocks and a separate color for each ore type.

  3. Fluid source highlighting

Fluid sources receive a special highlight texture that replaces the default fluid appearance and supports texture packs.

  4. Mob tracking range

The range a mob can detect a player is drawn in the world, a version 2.0 addition to the tracking overlay.

  5. Explosion visualization

Explosion details are simulated and drawn in real time, showing the blast area and its effects before or during detonation.
