LowDurabilityWarning
by thevelqor
LowDurabilityWarning shows a clear on-screen warning when a tool, weapon or other damageable item in the player's hand runs low on durability.
What it does
When an item reaches low durability, the mod displays a visible warning on screen and plays an alert sound. Players who keep holding the same low-durability item are reminded again after a few seconds, which leaves time to stop or switch items before it breaks. The aim is to catch wear during mining, fighting, building or exploring, so that important gear is not lost by accident.
The mod is lightweight and runs quietly in the background without changing how items behave. It is a client-side only mod, so the server does not need it. Installation requires Fabric, and the 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 range is covered by files for 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.8 and 1.21.11. The code is licensed under the MIT License, and the project is not open source.
Key features
On-screen durability warning
A clear warning appears on screen when the item in hand is close to breaking, so the wear is noticed in time.
Alert sound
A sound plays together with the warning, so players are alerted even when they are not watching the hotbar.
Repeated reminders
Holding the same low-durability item keeps the reminder coming back every few seconds until the item is swapped or repaired.
Lightweight background operation
The warning system stays quiet in the background and does not interrupt ongoing play.

Use cases
Mining and building
A pickaxe or shovel nearing the end of its durability is flagged before it breaks in the middle of a mining run or a large build.
Combat and exploration
A sword, bow or armor piece in use is flagged while exploring or fighting, when there is no time to check the inventory.
Who it’s for: Players who want an early warning about worn tools and weapons, especially during long mining, building or combat sessions. Players on multiplayer servers need only install the mod on their own client, as the server does not need it.
