ToolSwap

by thevelqor

ToolSwap switches to the right tool in the hotbar as soon as the player starts mining a block on Fabric.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.18 – 1.21.11

What it does

When the player starts breaking a block, ToolSwap picks a suitable tool from the inventory and moves it into the hotbar. It only switches once the player is truly mining, so a stray hit on the ground or on a mob does not pull a shovel or any other tool out. Tools stored in the inventory stay where they are until they are needed. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source, and it is for Fabric only. Files cover 1.18 – 1.21.11, and the latest file is 1.0.0 for 1.21.2.

Key features

  1. Automatic tool switch

Starts the correct tool for a block as soon as mining begins, with no manual key press.

  2. Mining check

Confirms the player is holding down the break button before changing items, so swaps feel smooth and natural.

  3. Inventory tools stay put

Tools kept in the inventory are used directly and do not have to be moved to the hotbar first.

What the author says

ToolSwap automatically detects when you're actually trying to break a block and swaps to the correct tool from your inventory. The mod checks if you're truly mining a block before switching items, so it feels smooth and natural during gameplay instead of constantly swapping tools at random.
