Lost Souls
by McJty
Lost Souls turns the buildings generated by The Lost Cities into harder encounters, with extra and stronger mobs that spawn inside them.
What it does
Lost Souls is an addon for The Lost Cities, which must be installed alongside it. Some of the buildings the Lost Cities generator creates can become haunted, and a haunted building spawns additional mobs, with strong vanilla mobs boosted in damage and health. The mobs keep spawning until the player clears the building, which the mod counts once a set number of points has been reached. Mob spawning ignores the light level, so lighting a building up does not stop the spawns.
The mod is server-side only: the server runs it, and players join without installing anything. It is configurable. Server owners can turn it off, choose which kinds of mobs appear, set how many spawn, and adjust the armor and weapons they carry and how strong they are. The source code and issue tracker are public, and the project is released under the MIT License, so it is open source. Files target Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with builds covering 1.12 – 1.21.1 and the latest files dated 2026-08-13 and 2025-12-26.
