LootBeams Fabric Updated
by VanderCat
With LootBeams Fabric Updated installed, dropped items on the ground show colored light beams and nametags.
What it does
Every dropped item receives a beam by default, and the beam color follows the item's name. Players can set a whitelist or blacklist that limits which items get beams, define color overrides for particular items, and use NBT tags such as lootbeams.color to choose a color directly on a stack.
Nametags appear above each beam when the player looks at an item or crouches, which shows what the item is before it is picked up. The mod is client-side only, so a player can join vanilla servers and Forge servers that lack it. Fabric API is required, and Cloth Config API and Mod Menu are optional. Files exist for Fabric and Quilt for 1.20.1, with 1.0.3 as the latest, released 2023-08-30 under the MIT License, and the source code is open source.
Key features
Name-based beam colors
Beam colors are assigned from each item's name, so items of the same kind share a color.
Whitelist and blacklist
Filter lists decide which items receive beams, so only chosen items are highlighted.
Color overrides and NBT tags
Specific items can be given fixed colors, and an NBT tag can set the beam color on an individual stack.
Item nametags
Nametags show the item name when the player looks at or crouches near a dropped item.
