What it does

Fake players in LocalHost explore, dig, build, communicate, follow and attack, and they behave like ordinary friends until their habits start to shift. Over time the escalating behavior changes the surroundings: signs and books are disturbed, items disappear, doors open on their own, strange sounds echo underground and photographs appear. Rare possession and imitation sequences are part of the story, along with uncommon events and hidden mysteries.

The mod suits both solo worlds and shared servers, and players in one world can witness completely different events. Some encounters are extremely rare, so one player may never see them. Mysterious screenshots and world evidence are left behind as clues, and the Essential Mod Simple Voice Chat is supported for the multiplayer side of the experience.

LocalHost is a Forge-only mod for 1.20.1 and runs on the client and the server together, so every player and the server need it. It is published as a beta build, version 0.1.0, and is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Learning fake players

A fake player studies how others play and gradually alters familiar places to match its own habits.

  2. Disturbed world signs

Signs, books, structures, farms and inventories change, with items vanishing and doors opening by themselves.

  3. Rare possession sequences

Possession and imitation scenes occur rarely, and some encounters are so uncommon that most players never see them.

  4. Varied multiplayer events

Each player in a shared world can witness different events, so the same server produces different stories for different people.
