Legacy VanillaFix is a Fabric utility for Minecraft 1.8.9 that ports Runemoro's VanillaFix Legacy with a few extra changes to loading and menus.
What it does
The mod brings the optimizations of VanillaFix Legacy to the 1.8 line on Fabric. It adds a way to go back to the main menu from the pause screen, makes interdimensional teleportation faster, and lets players open GUIs from nether portals. Particle culling and the option to skip loading spawn chunks shorten load times, and a fullscreen saving fix helps with the Borderless Mining setup.
Files are published for Fabric only, across the ten 1.8 release versions 1.8 – 1.8.9, with 1.0.9+1.8.9 for 1.8.9 as the latest file dated 2022-08-25. The first release came out on 2021-09-12. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Either side can run the mod, and neither needs it. It uses the MixinTrace code in its entirety.
