Kindred Souls links two players so that damage, healing and death carry across the bond between a Ward and a Guardian.

What it does

Two players are bound together through the mod's bond. When the Ward takes damage, the Guardian takes an equal amount, and healing received by the Ward is mirrored to the Guardian. The bond can also be set to lethal, so that if the Ward dies the Guardian dies with them, while a Guardian's death leaves the Ward alive.

The mod is built for multiplayer, where cooperation and trust shape how the two players use the bond, and it can also be played in single player. A partner who goes offline is clearly shown as Offline. Konkrete is required and must be installed alongside Kindred Souls on Forge 1.20.1.

Kindred Souls runs on the client and the server, so both need it. It is published for Forge 1.20.1 only, with the latest file, 1.1.2, dated 2025-11-05. Two other catalog mods, Kindred Cycles and Kindred Expansion, require it. The code is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, and the project is not open source.
