Kinder
Kinder, a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.20.1, adds Gems inspired by Steven Universe, which players collect, tame and customize in several ways.
What it does
Kinder is a Technology mod that sorts its content into small and medium Soldier gems, Utility gems, a tamable gem, a pearl shucking tool and a pearl customizer. Small Soldier gems use only pink essence and are fairly weak, while medium Soldier gems come in the 16 Minecraft colors. A player can pack punch a Soldier gem, and enough defeats of the Warden may be needed to pack punch the gem itself.
Small Utility gems grant the player other gems the player owns, along with different buffs, though an unlucky roll can also apply debuffs. Owned gems can be cycled through movement types by shift-right-clicking them. A tame gem follows orders once it has been tamed by right-clicking an untamed gem, and its uniform insignia takes a color when dye is applied with a right-click, or with a shift-right-click.
The mod is for players who enjoy the Steven Universe concepts and want them in a Minecraft setting. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Latest build 0.1.2-1.20.1 for 1.20.1 was published on 2024-07-03, and the code is not open source, though public links to the source code and issue tracker exist.
