Just-In Blacksmith
by justinoway
Just-In Blacksmith lets players assemble custom weapons directly from base materials, with stats chosen during assembly instead of through smelting and casting steps.
What it does
Assembly here works like a traditional tool-building system: a weapon's stats are customized when it is put together. The author built the mod because smelting and casting felt too slow, so a tool can be made straight from base materials. The mod is published for NeoForge only, for Minecraft 1.21.1, and is licensed as All rights reserved, so it is not open source. It runs on the client alone, so servers do not need it.
Beyond assembly, the mod adds a weapon called the Vihuela. Its melee attacks are paired with ranged shots that fire musical notes. Each attribute of the instrument can be raised a few times, with a cap on total upgrades, and different combinations produce distinct combat effects. Sneak and right-click adjust the viewing angle while the instrument is played.
Combat behavior also changes. Attacks build a Stun value on the target, and a higher value makes a stun more likely. Holding right-click enters a ready stance that thrusts forward continuously. Attack damage grows with movement speed, and a brief block followed by a successful parry activates a Sliding Slash, so the next attack dashes through the target. The Forging Guide in the mod gives more detail on these systems. The author plans to add material compatibility with other major mods.

What the author says
Attacks accumulate a Stun value on the target. A higher Stun value increases the chance of stunning the target. Just a spear! Hold right-click to enter a ready stance, continuously thrusting at forward targets.
