Items, Begone!

by zeropointnothing

Items, Begone! lets a server owner decide which items players may use, through an ID list and blacklist that runs on the server.

FabricServer required, client optionalGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod is a simple ID and blacklist utility for server administrators. Items can be restricted by identifier, so a server controls which items players are allowed to use. The design keeps the setup approachable while still offering enough control for larger servers.

The core of the mod is a team-based approach. Administrators build rulesets for individual groups, and a global group can cover every player on the server through the built-in Team system of Minecraft. Groups can be arranged to match the roles or ranks used on a given server.

Fabric API is required. The server must run the mod, while players may leave it out, so a player with no mods at all can still join. It works with the ID checking system and is compatible with most other mods, because it runs almost entirely on the server and regulates items regardless of which mods are present. Released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, it is open source. Files cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the latest Fabric build is 1.1.0 for 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Identifier blacklist

Items are blocked or allowed by ID, letting an administrator shut out specific items without editing game files.

  2. Team-based rulesets

Rules can be written per group, so different groups of players receive different item access on the same server.

  3. Global group

An autogenerated global group applies a ruleset to every player on the server through the built-in Team system.

  4. Server-side enforcement

Restrictions are enforced on the server, so they hold whatever client-side mods a player has installed.
