ItemLore
by aidanfoss
ItemLore lets a player give a single tool or weapon its own tooltip lore, with counters that record how many blocks it has broken and how many mobs it has slain.
What it does
Each item can show customizable dynamic information in its tooltip, which turns a favorite pickaxe or sword into a personal record. Usage counters are kept per item, so the blocks broken by one pickaxe are separate from those of another. The counters update as the item is used, and the tooltip reflects the current totals.
A player can view an item's statistics with a simple command that supports tab-completion, so the figures are available without leaving the game. Fabric API is required, and the mod runs on the server only, so players join without installing anything. Files cover 1.20.2 – 26.2 across 11 release versions, and the latest Fabric file is 5.4.3 for 26.2.
The code is open source under the MIT License, and public source code is available. The mod was first published on 2024-01-26 and last updated on 2026-07-03.
Key features
Per-item lore tooltips
Dynamic information can be added directly to the tooltip of an individual item, so each tool carries its own history.
Per-tool stat tracking
Counters record blocks broken and mobs slain by each item separately, so a pickaxe and a sword keep distinct totals.
Statistics command
A command shows an item's recorded statistics and supports tab-completion, which makes it quick to check the figures.
Customizable display
The lore shown on an item can be adjusted, so the tooltip presents the tracked information in a chosen form.
