Iron Oak

Iron Oak lets players grow a special oak tree from a sapling infused with iron, and turn its logs into iron material.

What it does

Players apply an oak sapling to magically infuse it, and once the sapling is infused it grows into an iron infused oak. Cutting that tree yields iron infused logs, which can be carefully cut into planks so that the iron sparks are not lost. The logs can also be burned in a fire bowl, which gives off iron infused ash. Water washes the ash into iron shreds, and nine collected shreds craft raw iron, while smelting shred nuggets is an alternative route.

Iron Oak lets players grow ore-infused oak trees, so iron can come from farming wood in place of digging for dark ore. Iron Oak requires Fabric API. It runs on the client and the server, so both need the mod, and it is published for Fabric. The source code and issue tracker are public, and the project is released under the MIT License as open source. Snapshot builds are published as well, with files for 26.3 and the latest build dated 2026-09-18.

This mod aims to add several ore infused oak trees. This allows you to plant and farm ingot instead of mining them in the dark. To create your first iron infused oak sapling you have to create iron infused bone meal.
