Inspectability Reforged

by hikoma0000

Inspectability Reforged opens a 3D inspector screen so players can examine an item model up close, with mouse-controlled rotation, zoom and offset.

What it does

The mod shows an item as a rendered 3D model in its own inspector screen. Players can adjust scale, rotation and offset, and roll an item with Hold Ctrl and a horizontal left-click drag. Spawn eggs, minecarts, boats and armor appear as rendered entities rather than flat icons, and equipment inspection is supported. Entities with several variants, such as paintings, frogs and cats, are detected automatically without manual configuration.

The mod is open source under the MIT License. It targets 1.20.1 on Fabric and Forge, and its latest files, 1.0.1-beta1 for 1.20.1, are on the beta channel. Because it runs only on the client, the server needs no installation. The mod also ships an Inspector Builder API that lets other modders register custom viewing logic for entities and variants in a few lines of code, and it can be used for mods that add their own items.
