Inquisitive Enchantment

by packallister

Inquisitive Enchantment gives extra experience from combat, so a fight adds to a player's XP without changing vanilla progression.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

Mobs defeated in combat drop more experience with the mod installed, which speeds up early enchanting for players who find the vanilla XP curve slow. The added experience is limited, so the mod does not replace normal progression. Configuration options control how strong the bonus is, and the mod is designed around vanilla progression rather than new items or systems.

The mod runs on Fabric and needs Fabric API. It is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files cover 12 release versions, with v1.20.1-1.3b as the latest Fabric file for 1.20.1. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Extra combat experience

Defeated mobs grant additional experience, making each fight contribute more toward the next enchantment.

  2. Limited bonus

The added experience is capped, keeping the vanilla experience curve intact.

  3. Configurable strength

A config option sets how much extra experience combat grants, so server owners can tune the bonus.

  4. Vanilla enchanting

Enchantment access stays within vanilla routes, such as enchanting tables and villager trades.

What the author says

XP progression can feel really slow, especially when you're in the middle of "Should I make this farm?" or "Which tool should I enchant first? I only have limited exp". I feel you. Inquisitive is a vanilla-friendly enchantment that rewards players with additional experience from combat, making every encounter more…
