InGameTranslator

by mcl0z

InGameTranslator translates chat messages and game text into the language a player chooses, so players can follow conversations on foreign servers.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1 – 1.21.4

What it does

Messages from other players can be translated in real time, and text the player sends can be translated before it is posted. Translation covers chat and game messages, including instruction prompts and command feedback, and the target language is chosen in the configuration. Clicking a translated message switches between the original text and the translation.

Translation runs through a provider the player selects, and the mod also accepts custom translation APIs for those who run their own service. Configuration is available through Mod Menu, which is required together with Cloth Config API. The mod is published for Fabric only, with builds for 1.21.1 and 1.21.4, and the latest file, 1.1.5, targets 1.21.4. It is client-side only, so a server does not need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source.

Key features

  1. Chat translation

Incoming chat messages from other players are translated into the chosen language as they arrive.

  2. Outgoing message translation

Messages the player types can be translated before they are sent, so other languages can be used on foreign servers.

  3. Command and prompt translation

Selected game information, such as instruction prompts and command feedback, is shown translated in the chat box.

  4. Original text toggle

Clicking a translated message switches the display between the original text and the translation.

  5. Custom translation APIs

Players can connect a custom translation API in place of the built-in provider.
