Infrastructury
Infrastructury is a library that lets one codebase target several mod loaders and Minecraft versions, cutting down repeated multiplatform and multiversion setup.
What it does
Mod authors use Infrastructury to write common code once and have it work across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with builds covering 1.16.4 – 1.21.11. The library reduces the boilerplate that normally comes with supporting several loaders and game versions at the same time, and it forwards Architectury events on each supported version. The mod does not add gameplay content of its own.
Players do not need to install it by hand for most mods; it is a dependency that other mods bring in. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and either side can run it while neither needs it. It requires Architectury API, and the project is still a work in progress, so the intended API is not fully settled. The code is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and is open source.
Key features
Cross-version modding API
A single API covers several loaders and game versions, so mod code does not need a separate branch for each target.
Less multiplatform boilerplate
Setup that is usually repeated for each loader and release is handled by the library instead of the author's project.
Forwarded Architectury events
Architectury events are forwarded on each supported version, letting shared event code run across targets.
Usability additions
New API features aim to make multiplatform development simpler, removing further repetitive code from mod projects.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
1.21.x6 of 6 versions with builds
1.20.x7 of 7 versions with builds
1.19.x2 of 2 versions with builds
1.18.x1 of 1 version with builds
1.17.x2 of 2 versions with builds
1.16.x2 of 2 versions with builds
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Mod developers who ship one project to several mod loaders or several game versions. Players usually meet the library only as a dependency of another mod.
How it compares
Architectury API is the library this one requires, is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and is published for 1.16.5 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Crossfabric is an open source MIT-licensed library for Fabric and Quilt only, covering 1.16.5 – 1.21.11, and either side can run it while neither needs it. SinoCore supports Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, but it is not open source and uses a custom license.
