In-game-name-changer IGNC
by Not_LazyyXD
In-game-name-changer IGNC replaces the default Minecraft client name with a custom name the player chooses, and that name then appears throughout the client.
What it does
The mod lets a player set the name shown in the client instead of the default one. The name is written in a customname.json file inside the config folder, so the player can change it without editing any code. Once saved, the custom name appears in the title screen, the window title and other supported UI text. The change applies only to the local client.
Installation needs Fabric. Put the mod into the mods folder, launch Minecraft once so the config folder and file are created, then open customname.json, set the clientName value to the desired name, save the file and restart the game. The mod is client-side only, so it has no effect on a server and servers do not need it. Files are published for Fabric for 1.21.11, with 1.0.5 as the latest file from 2026-07-14, under All rights reserved.

Use cases
Personal client branding
A player who streams or records gameplay can give the client a name of their own for the title screen and window.
Who it’s for: The mod suits players who want a personal name on their own Minecraft client. It is a single-player and multiplayer client tool, and it is not relevant to server administration.
