Immersive Snow Reloaded
by CerealCamera
Immersive Snow Reloaded is a world generation mod that makes snow follow the season and the biome around each player.
What it does
The mod recalculates snow on each chunk as it loads, so snow cover, leaf litter and winter variants of blocks such as grass, flowers, fences and walls appear where the season and temperature call for them. When the season changes, chunks are recalculated to match. Serene Seasons is supported for this, and Fabric Seasons can be used as well. Biome block blacklists and a per-biome configuration let server owners decide what changes and where.
This is a fork of the original Immersive Snow, updated to work with newer versions of Minecraft and to include integration with Better Days, which is already built into Serene Seasons support. Small tweaks add Minecraft's winter theme, and the mod is intended for use alongside a season mod. Fabric API is required. Snow! Real Magic! and Vanilla Backport are optional dependencies.
Immersive Snow Reloaded is server-side only, so players join without installing it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 9 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the code is under the MIT License, so it is open source. Source code and an issue tracker are linked from the project.
Key features
Seasonal snow
Snow cover follows the season and the temperature of each biome, and recalculates when a chunk loads.
Winter blocks
Grass, flowers, fences and walls are replaced with snowy variants, compatible with Snow! Real Magic! blocks.
Leaf litter control
Leaf litter is removed or placed differently in winter, and more winter chunks can be set to appear in summer.
Biome block blacklists
Block lists per biome let server owners exclude blocks from the snow effect and tune which biomes receive it.
