Immersive Farming

by Etyl

Immersive Farming, a Forge add-on for Immersive Engineering, changes how crops are tilled, watered, sown and fertilized through machines and compost.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.18.2

What it does

Sprinklers, crafted in order, irrigate crops in a 6 block radius and stand 12 blocks high. Water tiles only irrigate the farmland tiles next to them, and a pressure tank can feed them. Tilling land is faster, and a sowing machine plants seeds and fertilizes them quicker than by hand.

Compost comes from an Industrial Composter multiblock, and using compost on the soil boosts crop growth. Players can also craft pesticides that protect crops from getting sick or dying. The mod adds machine-based mechanics to crop growth, and its features are explained in the engineer's manual overview. Carts used for moving items between chunks come from code by AstikorCarts, adapted for the mod.

Immersive Farming requires Immersive Engineering. Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.18.2, with 1.18.2-0.3 as the latest file on the beta channel, and the source code is under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Irrigation sprinklers

Sprinklers irrigate crops in a 6 block radius and can be fed by a pressure tank.

  2. Machine tilling and sowing

A sowing machine plants seeds and fertilizes them faster, while tilling land takes less time.

  3. Industrial composter

  4. Crop protection

Pesticides can be crafted to keep crops from getting sick or dying.
