Heater
by Nubivago
Heater turns a furnace-like block into a fuel-powered heat source that warms neighboring machines, and a set of Heat Pipes and Thermostats extends how far that heat travels.
What it does
Heater is a Fabric mod with three new blocks: the namesake Heater, a Heat Pipe, and a Thermostat, and each of the three has weathered and waxed versions. A Heater looks like a normal furnace at first glance and even opens a similar screen, but it has no item slots because it does not process anything. Instead, fuel placed in it burns and the heat it produces powers nearby blocks, including Furnaces, Blast Furnaces, Smokers and other machines that consume fuel.
Heat Pipes carry heat through their length, so a pipe can route it past other blocks and reach furnaces across a gap. Pipes are efficient because they hold no block entity, which means many pipes can be placed without a noticeable cost to performance. The Thermostat controls how heat moves between Heaters: by default it passes heat through itself only when redstone-powered, and only in the direction it faces. Right-clicking it opens a screen where a fuel item in the central slot switches it to a fuel filtering mode, so it propagates only heat generated by fuel and converts unpowered blocks into a heat repeater.
Heater needs Burning, which is a required dependency, and Fabric API. The mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player install it. Its textures were created by StarOcean. Files are published for Fabric only, across 21 release versions 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Fuel-powered heater block
The Heater burns fuel placed in it and passes the resulting heat to adjacent blocks that accept it.
Heat Pipes
Pipes carry heat across distances, letting a single Heater warm furnaces that sit out of direct reach.
Adjustable Thermostat
A redstone-controlled Thermostat sets which direction heat moves and can filter for fuel-generated heat only.
Machine compatibility
Furnaces, Blast Furnaces, Smokers and other fuel-consuming machines can draw power from Heaters, and some work with other mods as well.

How it compares
Iron Smelters is also open source under the MIT License, but it runs on Fabric and NeoForge and is client and server, targeting 1.21.1 – 26.1.2. Coal Chunk Loader is server-side only and open source under the Apache License 2.0, covering 1.21 – 26.2 on Fabric alone. Power Farm is a Fabric mod for 26.2 that is not open source; either side can run it, and neither needs it.

What the author says
Heater offers a new way to power Furnaces, Blast Furnaces, Smokers, and every other machine that consumes fuel to do some work, even from other mods. (Credits to StarOcean for the fantastic textures they created!)
