Have I Played With
Have I Played With lets a player check whether they have shared a server or world with another player, using the names in the chat logs.
What it does
Vanilla Minecraft does not store a record of which players someone has played with, so the mod builds that record from the time it is installed. It logs players who were nearby or who appeared in the tab list, and a later lookup with the haveiplayedwith command shows whether a name has been seen before. Records only exist from the install onward, so earlier encounters are not listed unless the chat logs are searched separately.
The mod also lets a player attach a note to any other player with playernote, and it notifies the player when someone they have met before has changed their name. Fabric API is required, and the mod is client-side only, so servers need nothing and only the player's own client runs it. The license is the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Files cover 26.2 and 26.3, with 1.3.0 for 26.3 as the latest release, published on 2026-10-15.
Key features
Encounter log
Players seen nearby or in the tab list are recorded, and a later check shows whether a name was among them.
Player notes
A note can be attached to any player with the playernote command, so context is kept next to the name.
Name change alerts
When a previously met player changes their name, the mod notifies the local player so the earlier encounter is not lost.
Recorded from install
Only encounters after the mod is installed are stored, so the lookup does not reach back into earlier play.

Use cases
Checking a name in chat
A player who cannot recall whether they have played with someone can run the lookup instead of searching old messages.
Tracking regulars on a server
Players who return to the same server can keep notes on people they have met there.
Who it’s for: Players who join multiplayer servers or play with the same group over time, and who want a record of past encounters without searching chat logs by hand.
