Centered Crosshair

by JustAlittleWolf

Centered Crosshair moves the crosshair so its center sits on the exact middle of the screen, correcting a pixel offset in vanilla Minecraft.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20 – 26.3

What it does

In vanilla Minecraft the center of the crosshair does not line up with the center of the screen. The mod corrects that offset so the two points match. It works with resource packs that change the crosshair texture, and it runs on the client alone, so servers do not need it. Files exist for Fabric only, for game versions 1.20 – 26.3 with 1.6.0 as the latest file for 26.3, and the code is under the MIT License and open source.

Key features

  1. Exact screen center

The crosshair is drawn on the true middle pixel of the screen rather than a point half a pixel off.

  2. Odd-width crosshairs

Crosshairs with an uneven pixel width, such as 3 pixels, are also centered, not only even-width ones.

  3. Resource pack support

Crosshair textures from resource packs are centered in the same way as the default one.

What the author says

Fixes the annoying bug where the center of the crosshair doesn't actually match the center of the screen. If the crosshair is an uneven number of pixels wide (e.g. 3), it will still be offcenter but just by half a pixel.
