Haunted Note

Haunted Note sends short unsettling messages across the hotbar, chosen from what the player is doing at that moment.
What it does
Notes appear as brief flashes over the hotbar and fade after a configurable time. Their content depends on the situation around the player: standing still for a long time, being deep underground, playing late at night, playing alone on a quiet server, or having low health during a long session. When none of those conditions apply, the mod falls back to a general pool of messages.
Each note can also be sent to every player online, or to each player separately. Messages are delivered through the action bar and remain in chat history, so a player can scroll back to read one that passed too quickly. The mod is for Forge and NeoForge, runs on client and server, and is published for 1.19.2 – 1.21.1 with files for 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The code is covered by All rights reserved and is not open source.
