Grim & Bleak

Most of the content sits in one added dimension, Limbo, a dark place that looks empty at first and soon shows that the player is alone there. Limbo is a contained area whose actions have consequences in the Overworld. A Mod Guide gives access to Limbo, and a portal is made by crafting a compass and using pain light. Darksteel is the main ore in Limbo and is used to craft light and heavy Darksteel armors. Heavy armor costs more and slows the player down while giving much more protection than netherite, and light armor uses ripped cloth from mobs to reduce fall damage and speed up movement.

Darksteel also supplies many exotic weapons, such as a Darksteel Hook sword that grabs opponents like a fishing rod, a Darksteel Battleaxe with extended range and slow attacks that hit hard, and a Darksteel Hammer that deals more damage to armored creatures and carries the Smash enchantment. The Darksteel Tortured Sword deals low damage but attacks fast and gives Haste and Strength, and it requires Better Combat to be used in both hands.

The mod is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. It requires Geckolib and is published for Forge and NeoForge across 5 release versions, 1.20 – 1.21.1, under the MIT License. It is not open source.
