What it does

Glow Ink Plus adds glowing variants of many decorative blocks. A glow ink sac is the key ingredient: crafting it into wool, carpet, bed, stained glass, panes, candle, concrete, concrete powder, terracotta or glazed terracotta produces a version that gives off light. Right-clicking a sheep with a glow ink sac makes its wool glow, and the glowing state stays visible to other players in multiplayer. Glow beds work like vanilla beds for sleeping and setting spawn, and glowing concrete hardens on contact with water like the vanilla version.

The mod covers 16 colors for its concrete and other color-based blocks. Glowing blocks render at full brightness and use emissive rendering, so they stay bright under shaders. Wool textures from resource packs are supported. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and needs Anvian's Lib and Fabric API on Fabric. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 29 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.3.

Key features

  1. Glowing wool and carpets

Crafting wool or carpet with a glow ink sac creates a glowing variant that emits low light.

  2. Glowing stained glass and panes

Stained glass and glass panes can be crafted into glowing versions that stay transparent and work with beacons.

  3. Glowing candles and concrete

Candles, concrete, concrete powder, terracotta and glazed terracotta all gain glowing forms with the same ingredient.

  4. Emissive rendering

Glowing blocks render at full brightness and use emissive rendering that stays bright with shader packs.

Questions

Does Glow Ink Plus need Fabric API?

Fabric API is required on Fabric. Anvian's Lib is required on every loader, so both must be installed next to Glow Ink Plus on Fabric.

Does the server need Glow Ink Plus?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Do glowing blocks work with shader packs?

Glowing blocks use emissive rendering, so they render at full brightness under shaders.
