GimmiFullBright

by nandhu-44

GimmiFullBright is a NeoForge server-side mod that gives players a fullbright command, a night vision effect without particles, for the 1.21.1 – 1.21.5 range.

NeoForgeServer-side onlyMIT License1.21.1 – 1.21.5

What it does

A command toggles a fullbright effect for a player, with enable and disable options. The effect is night vision applied without particle effects, so the screen brightens while the player's appearance stays unchanged. Toggling is restricted to players who hold the required permissions, and the server broadcasts each change to the other players so everyone knows who turned the effect on or off.

Only the server needs the mod installed, so players join without any client-side files. Every fullbright toggle is written to the server console, which lets administrators keep track of who uses the command. Chat messages about the toggle are colored to make them easier to read.

Files are published for NeoForge only, covering game versions 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4 and 1.21.5. The latest release, 1.0.0 for 1.21.5, was published on 2025-06-02. The code is released under the MIT License, and the project is not open source in the sense of publishing its full source tree.

Key features

  1. Fullbright command

A command turns the night vision effect on or off for a player, with separate enable and disable options.

  2. Night vision without particles

The brightening effect is applied with no particle effects, so the visual effect stays minimal.

  3. Permission-gated use

Only players with the required permissions can run the fullbright command, which lets server owners limit access.

  4. Server console logging

Each fullbright toggle is logged to the server console, giving administrators a record of changes.

How it compares

Full comparison

Gamma for NeoForge is client-side only, runs on NeoForge 1.21.1 under the MIT License and is not open source, so it changes only the local player's display. Simple Night Vision is server required with the client optional, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.13 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. More Command plus is client and server on NeoForge 1.21.1 and is under All rights reserved, so it differs in both environment and license.
