Gergamod

by AdmiralBackfisch

Gergamod is a Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that adds several new mobs, ranging from real-world animals to invented creatures.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

The mod's creatures fall into two groups. Some are based on real animals such as blue lobsters, hamsters and birds, while others are fictional, like the Mogue Lobster and Mutants. Each creature serves a purpose: some drop unique items, some have special mechanics or functions, and others exist purely for appearance, helping certain environments feel more alive.

The mod also adds unique tools and weapons that support progress through the game. Its models, textures, animations and AI are styled to sit alongside the vanilla game's latest additions. Gergamod requires Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it.

Gergamod runs on the client and the server, so both need the mod. It is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, and is released under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Real-world creatures

Animals such as blue lobsters, hamsters and birds appear among the new mobs, placed in the world to add life to environments.

  2. Fictional mobs

Invented creatures like the Mogue Lobster and Mutants sit alongside the real-world animals, each with its own look and behaviour.

  3. Purposeful creatures

Mobs have a function: some give unique drops, some carry special mechanics, and some exist purely as decoration.

  4. Unique tools and weapons

Tools and weapons added by the mod give players new options during their progression through the game.

  5. Style matched to vanilla

Models, textures, animations and AI match the look and feel of the vanilla game's latest additions.
