Gear Fraud is a Fabric client mod for Wynncraft that changes what other players see when they inspect a player's gear.
What it does
The mod alters the gear that a player appears to carry when another player runs a gear check on them, so the items shown can differ from the ones actually equipped. It depends on Mod Menu and Wynntils, and both must be installed alongside it. Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it.
Gear Fraud is released under the MIT License and is open source, with its source code and issue tracker public. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.21.4 and 1.21.11, with 1.1.2 for 1.21.11 as the latest build, dated 2026-03-27. The first release appeared on 2025-10-17.

Altered gear view
Other players inspecting the gear of a player see the items the mod presents, not the ones equipped.
Gear sharing check
Gear sharing in Wynntils must be enabled for the altered view to be shown during a check.
Reconnect handling
The mod works with the Hades reconnect feature in Wynntils so that a connection to Hades can be re-authenticated.
Cache timing
Hades may not have refreshed its item cache yet, so displayed items can lag behind the latest gear changes.
