Galactic Computers

by v1993

Galactic Computers connects OpenComputers to Galacticraft, so computers placed inside a space base can reach outside it through a sealable cable.

ForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.12.2

What it does

The mod's only addition is a Sealable Cable Block. It joins the sealed interior of a Galacticraft space base to computers outside it without letting air escape, so the base keeps its atmosphere while the computer network still runs. Players placing cable through a base wall do not need extra sealing steps beyond what the block already provides.

Galactic Computers requires Galacticraft-Legacy and OpenComputers, and both must be installed beside it. It runs on the client and on the server, so the server and every player need the mod. Its files target Forge 1.12.2 only, with 1.0.0 as the latest file from 2022-11-19, and the source code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, making it open source.

Key features

  1. Sealable Cable Block

A single new block that carries OpenComputers connections through a sealed wall of a Galacticraft base.

  2. Galacticraft integration

Computers can sit inside a Galacticraft space base while the network stays linked to the outside.

  3. Airtight passage

The cable seals its opening like other sealable Galacticraft blocks, so the base keeps its air.

  4. Focused scope

The mod adds no other blocks, items or screens, so it changes only the connection between the two systems.

What the author says

You'll need to use adapter from OpenComputers to do so. Somewhat annoying, but that's it. All mods with exception of Galacticraft Core are optional. Feel free to ask for support for other GC addons.
