Full Brightness Toggle
by Lightre
Full Brightness Toggle adds a key that switches the whole view to maximum brightness, and a second press returns the game to normal brightness.
What it does
Pressing the bound key turns full brightness on, so the world is lit uniformly and dark areas stop hiding details. Pressing the same key again restores the brightness set in the game options. The default key is G, and it can be changed in the controls menu.
Because only the client runs it, the mod changes nothing on the server side and needs no install on the server. Fabric API is required, so it must be present alongside the mod. The mod is published for Fabric only, with builds covering 1.18 – 26.3 and 2.0.2-26.2 as the latest file for 26.2.
The code is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, and the mod is not open source. Source code and the issue tracker are publicly linked from the project page.
Key features
Toggle on a key press
One key switches full brightness on and off, without opening any menu or restarting the game.
Default key G
The toggle starts on G, and the binding can be reassigned in the controls settings to any free key.
Return to normal brightness
A second press brings back the brightness value the player already had, so the change is fully reversible.
Single-file install
The mod is one JAR placed in the mods folder, with nothing to configure before the first launch.

Use cases
Dark caves and night builds
Players exploring caves or building after dark can brighten the scene briefly to see block edges and terrain.
Screenshots and recordings
A full-brightness toggle lets a player capture a scene evenly lit, then switch back to normal play.
Who it’s for: Players who want to see dark areas clearly without changing the in-game brightness setting permanently, and who run the Fabric loader on the client.
How it compares
Brightness Plus is client-side only, under the MIT License and not open source, with files for 1.20.1 – 26.3. FullBright Slider is client-side only, under the MIT License and not open source, and covers 1.21.10 – 26.3, so it targets a narrower set of versions. Per Dimension Brightness Control is client-side only, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and also runs on Forge and NeoForge, which this mod does not.
