Freecam
by hashalite
Freecam separates the camera from the player, so the view can fly through blocks within render distance while the character stays in place.
What it does
Turning the freecam on detaches the camera from the player and lets it move freely through the world, including through solid blocks inside the render distance. Turning it off returns the view to the player's original position. The author describes it as useful for inspecting builds and exploring a world from angles that are not possible in normal play.
Several camera modes are available: a default static-velocity mode with no drifting, a vanilla creative flight mode, first person, third person, a third person mirror that faces the player, and an inside mode. Interactions can come from the camera or from the player. The freecam key can be combined with the hotbar keys F4 plus 1 to 9 to set up several cameras with different perspectives and switch between them.
Freecam runs client-side only and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 35 release versions, with builds covering 1.16.2 – 26.3. The mod requires no dependency to run, uses Mod Menu as an optional dependency, and bundles Cloth Config API. It is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Detached camera
The camera moves independently of the player while the mode is active, and returns to the player when disabled.
Camera modes
Default, creative flight, first person, third person, third person mirror and inside modes change how the view is placed around the player.
Interaction source
A setting decides whether block and entity interactions come from the camera or from the player.
Tripod cameras
Combining the freecam key with hotbar keys F4 plus 1 to 9 stores several camera positions and switches between them.

Use cases
Inspecting builds
Players can move the camera around a finished structure to check details from angles that normal movement cannot reach.
Exploring a world
The camera can travel through terrain within render distance, which suits looking at caves and landscapes from above or below.
Who it’s for: Players who want to inspect builds or film a world without moving their character. Server owners and players should check each server's rules first, because the author notes that some servers may treat the mod as cheating.
How it compares
Remove Third Person is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.16.5 – 1.21.1, so it does not run on Fabric. Camera Entity Fade is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with files for 1.20.1 – 26.2, which matches the loader set of Freecam. Auto Third Person is client-side only and open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later, published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.4.7 – 1.21.5.
