Remove Third Person

by luuuppi

Remove Third Person turns off the F5 camera switch in Minecraft, so the view stays in first person for the whole session.

ForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.16.5 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod disables perspective switching in the client. Pressing the key that normally cycles between first-person, back third-person and front third-person views has no effect, and the camera remains locked in first person. It is a client-side mod, so only the player's game needs it and servers run without it. Builds are published for Forge and NeoForge, covering 1.16.5 – 1.21.1 across 10 release versions, and the code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Locked first-person view

The camera stays in first person at all times, and the view cannot be changed to back or front third-person.

  2. Disabled view key

Pressing the perspective key does nothing, so the switch is blocked without changing other camera or input behavior.

  3. Client-side install

The mod changes only the player's own client, so a server does not have to run it for the lock to apply.

What the author says

This client-side mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 disables the ability to change the player's camera perspective (e.g., using the F5 key). Once installed, any input intended to switch the view between first-person, third-person back, or third-person front will have no effect — the perspective remains locked in first-person…
