Flags That Represent
by socialtag
Flags That Represent lets players place flags of countries, regions, territories and other entities into the Minecraft world, with over 800 flags available to choose from.
What it does
The mod adds a large catalog of flags, covering the 193 UN member states, partially recognised and breakaway states, dependencies and territories, subnational regions such as counties and municipalities in several countries, historical flags, ethnicities, organisations, fictional nations, and international maritime signal flags. The catalog is listed by category, and the number in square brackets beside each category shows how many flags it holds.
Flags can be customised with a tool called the Turning Wrench, which sets their orientation: on a flagpole, hanging from a side or top, at a 45 degree angle, or lying flat. The mod runs on the client and on the server, so both sides need it, and it is published for Forge and NeoForge across the game versions 1.17.1 – 26.1.2. The code is under the MIT License, and the project is not open source in the strict sense, with custom flag creation handled through a template and tutorial.
Key features
Country and territory flags
Flags for the UN member states, dependencies, territories and breakaway regions can be placed in the world.
Subnational flags
Flags for counties, cities, municipalities and provinces in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Liechtenstein are included.
Orientation tool
The Turning Wrench sets each flag to a flagpole, a hanging side or top, a 45 degree angle or a flat position.
Custom flags
Custom flag designs are possible: a template and a step-by-step guide in the project show how to edit the textures, though the process takes some care.
