FFS - Fancy Fluid Storage

by Lordmau5

FFS - Fancy Fluid Storage lets players build fluid tanks in shapes other than plain cuboids, with lava and water tanks among the designs.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.01.16.5 – 1.21.1

What it does

Fluid tanks in FFS can be shaped as arches or other forms, not only rectangular blocks. Each tank holds up to 65536 buckets of a single fluid, and the default size is 8192. A tank is locked to the fluid it first receives, and the mod includes two sample designs: one arch-shaped tank for lava and a tank with water in its center.

Right-clicking the frame, casing, glass or valve opens the storage screen, and fluid can be moved in with a bucket or any item that holds fluid. Some blocks, including dirt, dirt path, grass block and wet sponge, are blacklisted from use in tanks by default. Server owners and resource pack creators can change that list by editing the blacklist file under data/ffs/tags/blocks.

The mod is installed on both client and server. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across five game versions, 1.16.5 – 1.21.1, and it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license, so it is not open source. Its source code and issue tracker are public. The optional CC: Tweaked dependency is named in the catalog for compatible integrations.

Key features

  1. Non-cuboid tank shapes

Tanks can be built as arches and other forms, using frame, casing, glass and valve blocks.

  2. Single-fluid locking

Each tank locks to the first fluid placed in it, so one tank keeps one fluid at a time.

  3. Bucket and item insertion

Fluid can be added by right-clicking with a bucket or other items that contain fluids, which also supports automation.

  4. Configurable capacity and blacklist

Capacity defaults to 8192 buckets with a maximum of 65536, and the list of blocks barred from tanks can be edited through a data file.

Questions

Does FFS need CC: Tweaked to work?

No. CC: Tweaked is listed as optional, so FFS runs without it.

Do both the client and the server need FFS?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Which loaders and versions does FFS support?

FFS is published for Forge and NeoForge across 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The latest NeoForge file is 3.5.13 for 1.21.1, and the latest Forge file is 3.4.11 for 1.20.1.
