Extended Golf
by iamkaf
Extended Golf changes how mob loot is generated, with Skeletons acting as caddies who shoot arrows at mobs placed in the player's chosen position.
What it does
Players position themselves and let a Skeleton holding a golf club take the shot, so a mob is killed by arrows aimed from a chosen spot. Kills made this way add extra loot, including more music discs and rare materials, and some mobs that a Skeleton cannot normally kill now get a loot pool of their own. Loot can be replaced or extended with datapacks, and the mod reads tags to decide which drops change.
Amber is required on Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt, so it must be installed next to Extended Golf. The mod runs on the server alone: players join without installing anything, and only the server owner needs the files. Builds exist for 1.21.1, 1.21.4 and 1.21.5, with 1.2.0 for 1.21.5 as the latest file, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Skeleton-assisted kills
Skeletons fire arrows at a target mob, and kills made this way yield loot that normal skeleton kills do not.
Own loot pools per mob
Mobs that were previously left out of loot changes get their own unique loot pool, adding drops that fit each creature.
Additional music discs
A new range of music discs is added to the loot, awarded through assisted kills of specific mobs.
Datapack customization
Drops can be swapped, removed or added through datapacks, so pandas or any other mob can drop different items.

Use cases
Custom loot for a server
Server owners who want different drops for particular mobs can write a datapack to replace or add entries.
Mob farm loot
Players building kill setups can aim mobs into position for Skeleton shots and collect the extra drops.
Who it’s for: Server owners and datapack authors who want to change mob drops, and players who enjoy collecting rare loot from mob kills. Only the server needs the mod, so it suits multiplayer worlds where players do not want to install extra files.
How it compares
Player Only Mob Loot is server-side only and open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, but it is published only for NeoForge 1.21.1. Loot Bags is a server-required mod with a closed license under All rights reserved, covering 1.21 – 1.21.2 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Extended Golf differs by focusing on Skeleton-assisted kills across 1.21.1 – 1.21.5.
