Loot Bags
by ProdigeGasy
Loot Bags adds loot bags that mobs can drop when killed, with the chance of a bag set by a datapack function.
What it does
The mod is a datapack, and the bags come from a function in the data folder that runs when a mob is killed. Each kill rolls a random value, and the chance of receiving a bag changes with the value that the function assigns. Server owners can lower the value to make bags rarer or raise it to make them more common.
Loot Bags is server required and client optional, so only the server needs the datapack installed for the drops to happen. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and as a data pack for the 1.21 – 1.21.2 game versions, with 1.21, 1.21.1 and 1.21.2 files. The license is All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
Key features
Loot bags from mob kills
Mobs can drop loot bags when they are killed, giving players a chance at rewards beyond normal drops.
Adjustable drop chance
The random value in the kill function sets how often a bag drops, and lowering it reduces the chance.
Datapack function
The kill behavior lives in a function inside the datapack, so the logic can be edited without changing code.
Uninstall command
A command in the chat window removes the mod's effects when the server no longer needs it.
