Explorer's Compass Addon changes how the Explorer's Compass search picks its next target, on Fabric for 1.20.1.
What it does
The addon is a Fabric addon that requires Explorer's Compass. It targets only the 1.20.1 game version, with a single release, 1.0.0 for 1.20.1, first published on 2026-02-21 and last updated on the same day. Client and server need it together, so the server and every player must run the addon, and the license is Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0, which means it is not open source. Public source code is available.
The addon backports a newer search logic from Minecraft 1.21 and later to the 1.20.1 version of Explorer's Compass. It fixes a problem where the compass kept pointing at a structure the player was already standing inside or close to, so a search returns the next structure instead. A next-closest search picks the nearest structure that has not been reached yet, and the search skips a structure when it is already being searched for the same structure type.
